Every treatment is tailored to the needs of the child, and we have a variety of tools and techniques at our disposal. Often, I’ll observe the infant as they play, watching their movements carefully and explaining what I see to the parents before we proceed with gentle adjustments. It’s important that the whole experience feels calm and non-invasive for the baby.

One patient I’d love to share with you is an infant we have been seeing since she was six weeks old. When she first came in, she had pretty severe torticollis—favoring right lateral flexion and left rotation. Over time, with some gentle mobilization techniques and sacral adjustments, she has made incredible progress. She’s now eight months old, with full range of motion, and didn’t need a helmet!

This baby is also meeting and surpassing her milestones—she’s crawling, pulling herself up, and even stood for five seconds recently! It’s truly rewarding to see how far she’s come, especially considering she used to struggle with sitting comfortably in her car seat.

At Forward Spine Center, we use extremely gentle pressure for infant adjustments, comparable to the pressure you’d apply to your eyelid. We combine this with playful movements to encourage healthy development and good mobility.
